Maranta Names/Varieties Marantas (like Calatheas, Stromanthes and Ctenanthes) are commonly known as Prayer Plants. They fold their leaves up at night what looks like they are praying.

Some of the most common Maranta varieties are:

- Maranta leuconeura 'Erythroneura' Fascinator (Red Pinstripes) - Maranta leuconeura 'Erythroneura' Lemon Lime (Green Pinstripes) - Maranta leuconeura 'Kerchoveana' (No Pinstripes) - Maranta leuconeura 'Silver Feather' (Silvery leaves)

Origin Native to the Brazilian rainforest.

Climate Marantas like temperatures between 65F° and 75F°. They like bright indirect light and humidity. Keep them away from direct sunlight and in a humid environment (60-80%). If you can't provide humidity you will notice brown, crispy leave edges pretty soon.

Water needs Marantas don't like to dry out all the way. They like to stay relatively moist but not soggy.

Toxicity This plant is not toxic to humans, dogs and cats.

Growth habits About 20-30 inches tall, Marantas grow more horizontal and becoming nice trailing plants when more mature.
